Bath Lift Chair - Sonaris
The Bathmaster Sonaris 2 is an economical solution for providing comfort, safety and independence for the user. In addition, it helps to alleviate lifting in and out of the tub for the caregiver, saving backs! This version has a weight capacity of 375 pounds!
The Bathmaster Sonaris 2 is a modular, portable powered bath lift used to lower a person down into the tub for a full soaking bath. The bath seat is equipped with transfer flaps. Transfer flaps are hinged extensions of the seat. They rest on the tub edge and bridge the gap between the tub edge and the seat. This enables the user to sit down on the seat with legs outside of the tub and then move their legs into the tub, either independently or with assistance, while they are in a fully supported seated position. This eliminates the need to step into and out of the tub in a standing position. The bath lift then lowers the user down into the tub, with just the touch of a button, for a full soaking bath. When bathing is completed, the lift will raise the user to the height even with the edge of the side of the tub and from the sitting position legs can moved outside of the tub onto a dry bathmat before the user moves to standing. This significantly improves the safety of getting into and out of the tub and facilitates independence at a time when wet slippery surfaces produce an environment that significantly increases risk for falls.
The Bathmaster Sonaris is operated by a rechargeable battery. It can perform an average of six lifts per charge (based on 220 lb load). There is an audible beep and a blinking light to alert you when the battery needs to be recharged. The operator buttons on the hand controller are simple and large to make it easy for anyone to operate. The seat and back snap together for assembly and can easily be separated for storage or transport. The all-plastic design makes cleaning easy, means no rust, and has a complete weight of 24 lbs that can be split into 8 pounds for the back and 16 pounds for the seat portion.
The Bathmaster Sonaris seat back reclines from upright anywhere to 40 degrees of recline. The Bathmaster Sonaris weight capacity is
There is a 4-year warranty on the seat frame and a 2-year warranty on the hand controller, recharger and optional cover.
The Transfer flaps have to be supported by at least 1" of the tub surface on the transfer flaps. It is ideal to have both flaps supported if the tub/shower is designed that way.
