Welcome to ICAN, a free service for Arkansans with disabilities, their families, service providers, schools, and agencies. ICAN is a one-stop resource where you can browse assistive technology items that are available for loan, demonstration, or for free from the ICAN program. You may also find Assistive Technology items available for sale or donation from the general public.

Before looking at our web site, please take a moment to review the guidelines for using our site. Then, before creating an account, you must click the checkbox to acknowledge that you have read and accepted this agreement.

1. Registration Obligations

By completing the registration, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. You agree that you will provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the site.

2. Equipment Exchange - Listing Items for Sale, Trade, or Give-Away

You understand and agree that items listed by you should be described accurately and with detailed information about the product’s specifications and condition. The items should be in working order, unless otherwise stated in the ad.

You understand that items listed by you will remain posted for 90 days. You will receive an e-mail after that time to see if you wish to continue to keep them listed, make changes, or delete them. Your listing will automatically expire if you do not update your listing.

You understand that you control the amount of personal information you reveal when establishing the ad for your item.

You understand that the Exchange is designed to facilitate exchange between individuals and is not for the sale or procurement of equipment by vendors or distributors.

You understand and agree that ICAN is not responsible for the misrepresentation of the condition of any item and functions only in an information sharing capacity. Equipment exchange activities and any liability resulting from them are the responsibility of the exchanging parties.

You understand that ICAN reserves the right to edit, delete or refuse listings based on the item description.

3. Requesting a Loan or Free Item from ICAN

You understand that ICAN will hold items for 5 working days after you request a loan or a donation of a free item. If items are not picked up within that time frame, the items will be returned to the loan or donation pool.

4. Limitation of Liability

You understand and agree that ICAN is not responsible for technical support, repairs, misuse, collections, transfer arrangements, or any misrepresentation of the condition of the assistive technology, or difficulties in securing payment from buyers. ICAN is not a mediator and cannot provide assistance in such situations.

You understand that that it is very important that you involve the appropriate professional when choosing assistive devices. For example, an occupational therapist or physical therapist should be involved when choosing mobility aids such as standers or wheelchairs.

You understand and agree that ICAN is not responsible for any liability or damages for any accident or injury resulting from the use of free, loaned, or purchased equipment.
